Contra Dances are fun for young and old, novice or experienced dancers. Performed to traditional tunes from Celtic, American, Canadian and other heritage, these dances involve patterns and steps similiar to Square Dances. Participation can be a strenuous or as gentle as the dancer prefers, and is a great form of exercise.Comfortable shoes and cool clothing are recommended.
NOTE: For the time being, the dances are scheduled only for the fall and the spring. Winter and summer tend to present too many weather related problems and event conflicts.
SCHEDULE for SPRING 2008:
- March 14th - caller: Eric Schreiber
- April 11th - caller: Jim Thaxter
- May 9th - caller: Deborah Hyland
